Mimi is my all-time favorite anime female. Why? One thing, she's a lot like me. Second, unlike most anime females, she has character and flaws. I hate watching shows where the female characters are perfect and flawless, because in reality, there are no such things as perfect people. It annoys me because those "perfect girls" build an image saying "this is how girls should look and be like", and you know that's not humanly possible.

Mimi was a real brat and whiner in the beginning of season 1, but throughout the show, you start to see Mimi grow and mature. She holds the crest of sincerity (purity in Japanese), which is not surprising, despite her selfish image at first. She cares deeply for others, and is rather sensitive, though she may seem completely oblivious to people and things at times. Not only people, but a lot of Digimons respect her as well, and are willing to sacrifice themselves to protect her. She, in return, is always ready to protect her friends and family, and is more courageous than she appears.

In season 2, the idiots at Toei decide to ship Mimi off to the US, thus pratically cutting her out of the show . But in the few episodes you do see her, you find that she has changed greatly from season 1. For one thing, she's less of a whiner. Also, she's taken other's feelings more into heart, and is always trying to bring out the best in others, regardless of friend of foe. At the end of season 2, she did get married (to whom, I do not know), and has a son that looks surprisingly like Michael.
